Flink with Amazon & Monitoring Flink with Prometheus

Talk 1: Flink with Amazon
The increasing number of available data sources in today's application stacks created a demand to continuously capture and process data from various sources to quickly turn high volume streams of raw data into actionable insights. Apache Flink addresses many of the challenges faced in this domain as it's specifically tailored to distributed computations over streams. While Flink provides all the necessary capabilities to process streaming data, provisioning and maintaining a Flink cluster still requires considerable effort and expertise. We will discuss how cloud services can remove most of the burden of running the clusters underlying your Flink jobs and explain how to build a real-time processing pipeline on top of AWS by integrating Flink with Amazon Kinesis and Amazon EMR. We will furthermore illustrate how to leverage the reliable, scalable, and elastic nature of the AWS cloud to effectively create and operate your real-time processing pipeline with little operational overhead.

Talk 2: Monitoring Flink with Prometheus
Prometheus is a cloud-native monitoring system prioritizing reliability and simplicity – and Flink works really well with it! This session will show you how to leverage the Flink metrics system together with Pronetheus to improve the observability of your jobs. There will be a live demo establishing how everything ties in together. The talk is aimed at people already building and running Flink jobs who would like to gain more insight into them. It is fine if you are not familiar with Prometheus yet as the basic concepts will be introduced. If you have ever wondered how you could use modern monitoring tools to be alerted in the middle of the night in case your Flink job‘s 99th percentile end-to-end latency degraded for some reason, this might just be the talk you are looking for.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
